Honda has been on a great streak this year. With sales of most large cars plummeting across the board, the Japanese auto giant is finding that it’s small fuel-efficient cars are selling in record numbers. One car that’s seen a 100 percent (!!!) sales increase is the venerable Fit.
Now Honda has released photos of an upgraded and restyled Fit for 2009. The car wears crisper body panels and evokes a more upscale look. The interior is also greatly improved compared to the first U.S. model and now sports the same steering wheel as the Civic. Cargo space also grows to 14.2 cubic feet and there will be an optional SkyRoof glass roof structure.
While no official specs have been released, the car is expected to carry over a mildly updated version of the same 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine. Rated at 118hp, the engine provides lively performance while returning excellent fuel economy.
