The bigger shopper story, though, is not just the headline number. Kia is trying to keep the EV6 squarely in the conversation with the usual compact EV suspects while also sanding down some of the charging hassles that still scare off typical buyers.

The trim most people should price first is the Light Long Range RWD at $41,200 plus a $1,545 destination charge. According to Kia’s EV6 specs page, that step-up takes you from 237 miles in the base Light SR RWD to 319 miles. That is an 82-mile gain for $3,300 more, which is the kind of math that actually matters when you are deciding whether an EV will feel easy to live with or mildly annoying by month two. Unless your commute is short and home charging is a given, the cheaper base trim still looks more like the attention-grabber than the smart buy.

Kia also added some practical ownership stuff for 2026. The company says every EV6 now includes a dual-voltage charging cable, Plug & Charge is available, and buyers in ZEV states get a DC fast-charger adapter included. Kia’s charging explainer notes that Plug & Charge runs through Kia Charge Pass and requires a stable vehicle data connection to complete setup. Not glamorous, but this is exactly the kind of detail that makes public charging feel a little less like phone-app speed dating.

If you want more equipment, the Wind RWD at $44,800 is probably the next trim worth a closer look, but the Light Long Range RWD is where the lineup starts to make clean financial sense. You get the 319-mile number shoppers actually want to see, you stay well below GT-Line money, and you avoid paying extra just to tell yourself AWD might matter twice a year. For many EV buyers, Kia did not just cut the price here. It also cut some of the usual ownership friction.
