While there are no surprises in the options list for the 2013 Mustang Shelby GT500, there are some fun option combinations, like a mean looking black paint, red stripe combination or a very American Red and Blue shown below (assuming you’re planning to paint your wheels white, which you are since you’re a good patriot).
Unfortunately, there is no way to pay homage to my personal favorite mustang ever, the 1970 Mach1 in Grabber Blue. To do that icon justice you would need black stripes on the Grabber Blue paint, which Ford isn’t allowing right now in the builder (yes I know the car wouldn’t have the shaker hood and that the stripes wouldn’t be true to the original, but it’s the color combination that really counts in this case).
Notable add-ons include a performance package, a technology package, Recaro seats and a glass roof. The $3,495 SVT performance package adds a Torsen differential, unique wheels (19 inch in front and 20 inch in the rear), high performance tires, Bilstein adjustable dampers and stiffer rear springs. The $1,995 glass roof should be selected unless you’re a hardcore racer and need to keep the car as light as possible since it lets in sunlight, which allows your body to synthesize Vitamin D and improves mood. The Technology package will run you $2,340 and includes a voice activated navigation system, HD radio and dual zone climate control. The Recaro seat package will add $1,595 to the price and will provide extra support when cornering hard in addition to being racer bling.
